How it works
The phone may hold data and signed-in sessions while also being your only way to approve a sign-in. Manually deleting synced files can affect the cloud and other devices; it is not a universal handover procedure.
What to check and do
- Identify the data you need. Prepare a backup or transfer and check the result before deleting anything.
- Check that you can sign in to important services and approve sign-in without the old phone. Follow each service’s help; do not share codes.
- Find the manufacturer’s official handover guidance for your model and system version. Check its conditions and warnings before acting; if unsure, stop and ask official support.
Learning scenario
Fictional scenario: you will give away your old phone tomorrow. Needed photos and your only sign-in approval method are still on it. The recipient suggests “just sign out of email”. This exercise selects a plan; nothing is erased.
Self-check
Your answer stays on this page until it is closed or reloaded. No real passwords, codes or documents are needed. The result is not a security certificate.
Important limits
This is a preparation plan, not a reset command or a guarantee that data can never be recovered. Procedures vary by device and service. Hand over work devices through authorised IT under the organisation’s rules. Do not change real settings or enter passwords, codes, signature files or documents in this exercise.
